A problem with microphones has forced Sony to delay the launch of Skype for PSP in Japan just before the service was scheduled to launch.
The microphones prepared by Sony apparently weren't up to Skype's standards, so Sony decided to delay the release rather than launch without a first-party peripheral.
A new release date has yet to be scheduled while Sony looks for a solution to the problem.
While this is a bit of a bummer for Japan, it shouldn't affect Skype's European or American release, "which will coincide with the end of January firmware upgrade," according to Sony.
