According to Xbox Family, which swears up and down that "This is not a rumor," Metal Gear Solid 4 will be coming to the 360 a year after its release on PS3.
This would seem to be at odds with assistant producer Ryan Payton's declaration that "We're telling our fans that if you want to play Metal Gear Solid 4, you have to buy a PS3."
The source for this information is an unnamed Konami rep at "an undisclosed distribution meeting," a description that inspires visions of trenchcoats, back alleys, and passwords. After "a lot of nagging," the rep supposedly spilled the beans that not only will there be a 360 version of Metal Gear, but that it's been in production since early 2007.
Xbox Family shot an email off to Microsoft for some kind of confirmation, and seems to take the response they received, which boils down to "no comment," as further confirmation that the news from the
Konami rep is true. Having read the email, I can't say I agree with that interpretation, but judge for yourself.
