Boy, seems one Vegas high-tech pool party is barely over, and it's time to start theorizing about the next one. That would PMA 2008, the big photography shindig happening at the end of the month. Among the early standouts are projected new SLRs from Pentax and Samsung.

The Pentax K20D is is a 14-megapixel baby with 2.7-inch live-view LCD screen, advanced anti-shake, a new type of RAW format and an estimated price tag around $1,400.

Samsung doubles its SLR presence with the GX-20, 14.6-megapixels with 2.7-inch live view screen, shake reduction, weather-sealed body, dedicated RAW button and a price in the $1,100 to $1,200 range.
