Nexon America just announced their intention to release Mabinogi, a free-to-play MMO title, here in The States.
Normally news of another Eastern MMO coming to America wouldn't be that notable, but Mabinogi is strikingly original and quite stylish.
The title employs a cel-shaded graphical style and is set in the world of Celtic and Welsh mythology. As is so often the case, the mythology won't be a direct translation of the Celtic and Welsh traditions, but will instead be a Korean interpretation of these myths.
On top of that, the title employs a unique "aging" system through which characters age over time and actually change and grow throughout gameplay. How this will be realized -- whether it's merely cosmetic or if it actively alters gameplay -- has yet to be seen, but Mabinogi certainly should be different from your typical Western fantasy-style MMO.
