The One Laptop Per Child Project is working to set up a U.S. branch this year, promising cheapo laptops for needy American kids. Nicholas Negroponte says they already have a director and chairman picked out for OLPC America and will likely set up stakes in D.C., where the organization will work with state governments to put laptops in schools.
