Pacifist Unorthodox play styles are no stranger to World of Warcraft, but rarely do you see a player like Noor, a gnome rogue designed to reach the level cap without killing anything.

While it may seem antithetical to be a pacifist in a game where every item is designed expressly for the purpose of murder (or protecting you from being murdered), Noor (nom de reality: unknown) was recently interviewed by WoW Insider where he offered a simple explanation for his quest: "I prefer doing stranger stuff."

There's no way to argue with that, but how exactly do you manage to level a character without killing anything? Noor explains:

Both my priest and my rogue try not to hit anything, although there's always a chance of a misclick when trying to open a quest item with mobs fighting near it. Both of them always wield a fishing rod, so any accidental hits won't increase their weapon skills. Neither of them will do quests where they have to kill things. In battlegrounds, my rogue will throw bombs to interrupt flag captures and stun people and may even accidentally kill players low in health or nearby critters. My priest only heals, so he is actually closer in roleplaying terms.
Neither will "get around" these limits by grouping and having other players do their dirty work.

According to his Armory profile, Noor is currently almost halfway to the WoW level cap, at level 29.

He also keeps a blog about the dual adventures of his pacifist rogue and priest, which can be found here.

While most WoW players will simply stare at his antics in confusion, or wonder if they should be letting their children sit next to him on Stormwind-Ironforge Tram, I'm impressed by the man if only because I personally wouldn't have the kind of patience it takes to level without the sweet visceral thrill of stabbing orcs and bunnies.
