This week at CES, Asus released a portable, 4-lb. mini-PC named the Nova P22 that is worth a close look based on its quality features and stylish good looks. The Nova includes an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, Wi-Fi at 802.11, and Bluetooth 2.0 for all networking needs. With the increasing processing power and portability of notebooks, PCs now have to appeal to the growing and discriminating taste for nicely designed gadgets and this is as good a design as we’ve seen.
The Nova P22 also is supposed to offer a small footprint and a quiet, 25-decibel engine based on its L-shape heat dissipation module, S-shape heat pipes, and three AI fans keeping it cooly churning. It also includes Windows Vista Home Premium, a Hard Drive of 160 GB SATA2 (at 5400 RPM), and supports 5.1 speaker modes with Dolby® Digital Live and DTS® technology.
But the best part about is that it’s very stylish and comes in two colors, pure white with an orange accent, and the cool black seen here. It's about a half a pound heavier than the Mac Mini, but we like the Asus design a bit more. It could actually function as the HP Blackbird PCs very tiny cousin.
