BenQ has launched a new series of laptops that includes a mini-screen and control pad on the cover, useful for running a truncated version of Windows Media Player without having to do a full boot of the machine. The small screen on the Joybook Q41 can also give a quick view of calendar appointments, incoming messages and other productivity tools. And it can run Skype.
No word yet on pricing or availability, but Asia-only looks like a pretty safe bet given BenQ's current laptop penetration.
