With people spending more and more time in virtual worlds, it's easy to forget the holiday season. At least, it would be if your virtual world of choice didn't also celebrate the holidays in its own special way.

Here's a look at what the various MMOs are doing to celebrate the most magical time of year.

World of Warcraft: The annual Feast of Winter Veil sees the appearance of Greatfather Winter in the main hubs of Ironforge and Orgrimmar. The jolly dwarf will be handing out presents to anyone who completes his series of quests; rewards include seasonal favorites like snowballs, holiday cookies and seasonal attire. On Dec. 25, presents will be available underneath the nearby Winter Veil Tree.

__Tabula Rasa: __Beginning Wednesday, players will be observing the Days of Remembrance, a somber celebration memorializing the destruction of Earth at the hands of The Bane. The three-day festival will conclude with a service for the departed planet Dec. 21.
__
Guild Wars: __Wintersday is a celebration beginning Dec. 21 and ending Jan. 7. Each day of the celebration will see new quests, events and missions all designed to get people in the holiday spirit through rewards like holiday-themed items and PvP snowball fights. On Jan. 1, a series of finale events is set to occur every three hours throughout the day.
__
City of Heroes/Villains: __Paragon City's winter event started Monday, with competitive skiing, holiday-themed badges and presents strewn about the city. Last year's event included a mission to aid Old Father Time in saving the holiday, and this year's festivities should see similar occurrences.

Lord of the Rings: Online: Aside from our previously mentioned holiday pricing promotion, Hobbiton will be decked out in full holiday regalia. Sadly, the holiday celebration isn't going as planned, but a visit to Bogo Chubb will give you a chance to lend a hand. ____

Everquest: The holiday of Frostfell hit Norrath Dec. 9, giving players a chance to save the ogre Santug Claugg from the evil gnome Ebenizer. Once the holiday has been ensured, festivities around the realms include a firework show, a feast and a party hosted by M.C. Tinkerton and his Clockwork Party Machine.

Final Fantasy XI: The Starlight Celebration kicks off tomorrow night at midnight, and sees those adorable moogles handing out gifts to all the good little boys, girls and creatures of an undetermined gender. Special holiday vendors will also be setting up shop throughout Vana'Diel to dispense their festive wares.

Anarchy Online: This time of year in the futuristic world of Rubi-Ka sees the appearance of the Santa Leet, a tiny creature that brings with it a wealth of limited edition gift items including Santa Leet dolls, candy cane backpacks and a slinky Yuletide bikini.

If we missed any Yule-inspired MMO festivities, drop us a line and we'll add them to the list.
