The U.K. press corps has been having a field day this week with the extraordinary story of John Darwin, the British canoeist who apparently came back from the dead after five years. While a police investigation continues, a web image which appears to show Darwin posing with his wife, Anne, in Panama a year ago has proved significant. How did this photo -- complete with date -- come to light? The Daily Mirror newspaper reveals all: It seems a curious member of the public found the image by putting three little words into Google.
Darwin, who claims he has no memory of the past seven years, has been arrested by police on suspicion of fraud, according to The New York Times.
