Celebrated Italian photographer, Massimo Vitali, is exhibiting at this year's Art Basel Miami Beach, opening tomorrow. His work (Catanalia Solarium, left, courtesy Galerie Ernst Hilger) might produce some double-takes for a series of seaside scenes, some reminiscent of a teaming Florida coast.
Before he shoots, Vitali spends a lot of time gazing down from a 15-foot high-platform sizing up who to snap. His preference for crowded beaches, densely populated discos, shopping centres, leisure parks, and supermarkets result in spectacular vast images which also beg the question: "Where's Waldo?"
