The work of Scottish artist Lucy McKenzie, at San Francisco MOMA, is a fusion of fashion and theatricality. It shows how space can be transformed and art installed so that canvases become walls in the manner of stage sets.

Her investigation of architectural detail is inspired by Glasgow, Scotland, the city known for the work of Art Deco designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

McKenzie continues her play with temporary space by "loaning" part of her exhibition footage to fashion designer, Beca Lipscombe. This studio within a gallery also became a retail space for a one-off event.

Also on view are McKenzie's illustrations for a calender of Lipscombe's designs, seen here, the garments drawn to evoke a history of mode.
