Spiritualized's Acoustic Mainlines tour has drawn rave reviews from critics at newspapers and blogs alike. Normally, I prefer the band's earlier, lazer-guided sound, but Jason Pierce, the band's leader and frontman through a few lineup changes, formerly of Spacemen 3, brings admirable intensity to these songs in a live, stripped-down format.
According to every report I've seen, the Apollo NY show was great, and from what I've heard of the Boston show so far (thanks to a clean recording job by Bradley's Almanac), results were similar there.
