Cover_oct07 Back in the day when men were men and mercs were mercs, there was the essential reading for those in the industry, known as Soldier of Fortune. But times have changed, and today we have "private security contractors" who conduct "stability operations." Now, they too have a magazine, and it's called.....Serviam* whose "*mission is to provide accurate and actionable information about private sector solutions to promote global stability."

Soldier_of_fortune_cover_sept95 Serviam will "address users and consumers of private goods and services in the humanitarian relief, national development, security and military sectors; government and private providers of such goods and services; and government entities involved in decisions that determine or influence trends in this growing industry."

Will Serviam someday rank among the names of other well known defense titles, like Aviation Week & Space Technology or *Jane's Defence Weekly (*and with duly noted bias, I'll add in Defense Technology International). I have no idea, but I wish them luck!
