Lost_tiedup_2 Since last week ABC has aired two, three-minute webisodes of bonus scenes for Lost. What's particularly interesting – aside from the revelation that Hurly is Jack's brother and Walt returns with evidence confirming the Hollow Earth theory (totally kidding!) – is that the way the webisodes were produced may offer a new model to settle the Writers Guild of America strike [insert pun about industry taken hostage].

As The New York Times reports Tuesday, the web-only content was written by the series' regular writers, and both the writers and actors will earn residual income. Specifically, Lost's writers are seeing 2 percent, which isn't too bad considering the WGA is negotiating for 2.5 percent. Whatever. As long as they don't keep adding completely unnecessary characters, I say they deserve the extra 0.5 percent.
