Litter-Robot: Self Cleaning Cat Box

What you see in the picture is not, unfortunately, a cat-piloted mecha. It is a self cleaning litter box. The Litter Robot waits for kitty to do her stuff and then, seven minutes later, sifts the old sand from the new, depositing the, erm, deposits in a kitchen trash bag.

It works like this: The entire inside revolves, pushing a grid through the cat litter and separating the clumps. As it continues to revolves, the poop falls down a chute. It's simple and elegant, if hard to explain. Check the Flash demo on the site. The downside? A $300 price tag, and a gadget possibly to dorky even for you cat. The website even gives instructions on disguising the unit:
