The battle between Apple fan boys and Microsoft loyalists runs deep beyond the newest iPod and Zune 2 scrimmage, but few people publicly split the line and decide to hate on both companies with almost equal fervor. A personal commentary site called The Best Page in the Universe doesn't do that exactly, but it comes close with some direct and cantankerous commentary by the author (right), known only as "Maddox."
A few months ago, Maddox posted an Apple bashing manifesto called "One Thing PC users Can Do that Mac Users Can’t" that keyed in on some issues people might have against the Apple-loving crowd, but concluded that the Windows OS was just as bad. Among some of the publishable tidbits:
- Apple is a company that has built its entire user base around the fact that its users can't do simple things like turn their computers on.
- I'm not stylish enough to own one. Most iPod commercials feature guys with long hair, chicks roller skating, and guys wearing fedoras. I have dandruff, and I buy most of my jeans from a grocery store. I feel like in order to have a Mac, I need to be: An artist. In a band. Unemployed.
- It's a computer, not a social movement, [$@%$7#!]
