The four-day Blip Festival is under way in New York, and in case you missed it check out the excellent interview with festival founder Mike Rosenthal over on Listening Post. More than 40 chiptune musicians and visual artists from around the world take the stage through Sunday at Eyebeam, jamming out with hacked Commodore 64s, old Atari consoles and Nintendo Game Boys. 8-bit stalwarts Bit Shifter and Nullsleep will perform, but I’m particularly looking forward to seeing Mark DeNardo and his new band Graffiti Monsters (Saturday at 8:40 p.m.), with visuals by Pixeljam. Each night's concert will cost $10 and include eight musical acts and a variety of live visualists.
