Britain is small, and that means rolling out networks is easy. While the US is still struggling with aborted municipal WiFi schemes, the Brits can hardly move without tripping over a free hotspot.
McDonald's has joined the free WiFi game, along with BT FON and The Cloud, and will be offering access in it's 1200 restaurants, making the Golden Arches the biggest free WiFi provider in the UK, with around a 10% share. We don't know if you'll have to buy a Big Mac to get access to the network, but the screaming kids and tiny, hard seats should prove a deterrent to the most dedicated loiterer.
