Being a Paper Man is tougher than you might realize. Rather than lying around on a table getting written on, a Paper Man has to head off to battle where many hazards await him. Bullets rip holes through his flimsy flesh, grenades shred it; water soaks him through completely, and fire burns him up. No matter how cute he is, this warzone is unforgiving.
Luckily, the opponents of Paper Man are all made out of the same stuff, albeit with sometimes a bit more first-person shooter experience than a noob might hope for.
Our hands-on match on the floor at TGS certainly proved that it's a cinch to get the hang of. Every second story window in our map was taken within moments by incredibly savvy snipers who shot the rest of us the instant the first hint of our paper costumes appeared around the corner.
That's right. Abandon your fatigues: these marksmen dress as loudly as they want. With outfits ranging from teddy bears to maids, from zombies to school girls, you can customize your character as if they were cute anime paper dolls. Oh wait, they are-- with deadly weapon accessories.
Cykan is a Korean game company, but this online casual FPS seems like a title that could do really well in the states, too. They definitely handed out an English fact sheet, so maybe we'll see a localization soon.
