The culmination of an eighteen-month research-and-development program with the United States Army and Indiana-based military-vehicle manufacturer AM General, Rhode Island-based TPI Composites has unveiled the first HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, or Humvee) with built-in carbon fiber composite armor.
