The old saying, "Race on Sunday, sell on Monday" doesn't only play in America. Hot on the heels of its much-anticipated reveal of the production GT-R coupe (pictured above right), Nissan has released images of its wicked new GT-R racer, snapped during a shakedown at the Honda-owned Suzuka Circuit. The car is set to run in the GT500 class of Japan's Super GT series for the '08 season. As for specifications for the competition GT-R, look for a race-tuned version of the production car's 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-6, producing well in excess of 500 horsepower. Beyond that, Nissan says you'll have to wait until its official press conference — next February.
