The industry group backing ultrawideband (UWB) high-speed wireless connections has certified the first UWB chipsets, paving the way for faster Bluetooth and Wireless USB gear. UWB gear will be abble to transfer data at rates of up to 480Mbps over short distance, similar to wired USB 2.0.
Wireless USB gear is supposed to hit the market by the end of this year, while Bluetooth 3.0 gear will probably arrive early next year.
