The Mercedes S-Class was the first--and possibly the only--street car to see production with distance control sensors that automatically bring a car to a dead stop in a traffic jam and then bring the car back up to a pre-set speed as traffic picks up again. Now, Mercedes is about to implement another head-of-its-time control: a laser system that will scan the road surface ahead of you and then adjust the S-Class' suspension accordingly.
