BMW's Mini brand, heretofore limited to turbocharged or normally aspirated hard-top and convertible versions of a single &mdash small &mdash model, tapped into a bit of its history to create the new, extended-length Clubman model. Inspired by the old Morris Mini-Traveler, the Clubman features a 3.1-inch-longer wheelbase and boasts a rear-hinged passenger-side third door and a very funky barn-door-style split rear hatch. When it goes on sale in the U.S. next year, it'll arrive as a standard, 120-horsepower model, or the 175-horsepower, turbocharged S variant. To our eyes, the stretch has hurt the standard Cooper's beautiful proportions, but there's no question the extra space will draw a whole new set of shoppers to Mini showrooms.
