The Apple iPhone early adopters have had a full day to grieve over the time and money wasted in the wake of the debut of the iPod Touch. But just to make sure those so-called super geeks feel the pain, we thought it best to point out an interview Steve Jobs conducted with USA Today in which he offers some insight into the choice to offer the iPod Touch so soon after the iPhone.
On how iPhone early adopters should feel now:
"That's technology. If they bought it this morning, they should go back to where they bought it and talk to them. If they bought it a month ago, well, that's what happens in technology."
On whether the new device will affect the 10 million iPhones sold goal:
"We think we're on track for those kind of numbers."
Regarding the iPhone vs. the iPod Touch:
"If anybody is going to cannibalize us, I want it to be us. I don't want it to be a competitor."
