Yes, that's Ed Begley Jr. next to Currie's new hybrid IZIP bike. The 50-pound bike has a claimed 70-mile range and a torque-sensitive switch that engages the motor when needed. The 15-pound lithium-ion battery pack can be pulled off and plugged in at home, too. One of the Currie guys said that during yesterday's test rides out at Bootleg Canyon, they "put a grandma on this bike and she was blowing past roadies and triathletes at 35 miles an hour." Sounds traumatizing for both parties.
