Hordes of bicycles, mesmerizing innovation and seizure-inducing colors, all under the blazing Nevada sun — didn't we already do this a few weeks ago? No, the Man isn't burning again (again); Wired News is heading back to Nevada to cover Interbike, the biggest gathering of bicycle (and bicycle-related) candy in North America.
Beginning Wednesday, for the next few days over 1,000 bike (and related) brands are expected to pack the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas, and Wired News will keep (pun alert) rolling with stories, blog posts and photos. Plastic keyboard covers to deflect excess drool recommended. Stay tuned.
L.E.D.s have come a long way since the days when they were dimmer than -insert notorious celebrity here- after a full night of alcohol-infused partying. Now Australian-based NiteFlux is crossing the Pacific with its Photon Max, an all-L.E.D. lighting system that's supposed to rival H.I.D. lamps for brightness. Yes, the built-in temperature sensor and sophistacted power-management system to protect against complete battery discharge is impressive; but what I really want to know is: How fast do I have to be blasting down singletrack before the Photon Max's “forced-air cooling" starts working?
