The latest celebrity to fly the Luddite flag is none other than sci-fi master Ridley Scott. During the Venice Film Festival Scott railed against mobile video devices like the iPhone, saying: **
"People sit there watching a movie on a tiny screen… But we try to do films which are in support of cinema, in a large room with good sound and a big picture… I'm sure we're on a losing wicket, but we're fighting technology. While it has been wonderful in many aspects, it also has some big negative downsides."
Scott offers a romantic spin to his anti-tech stance, but considering his well known sci-fi past, it's a little hard to believe we won't some day catch him surreptitiously caressing an iPhone-like device as he watches one of his films.
