Probably the most expensive, lust-worthy bicycle in the entire show, Colnago created this hand-painted, Campagnolo Record-equipped carbon siren for Ferrari's 60th anniversary.
This thing is just slathered in carbon; the only part of the bike to be seen without carbon are the beautifully machined brakes.
The bike is no slouch either -- Colnago says it was designed with sprinters in mind. To that effect, the downtube has been reinforced with ribs for stiffness and the "leaf" stays are compliant vertically but rigid horizonatally to resist the massive loads generated by sprinter's legs.
Expensive? Oh-my-gosh yes. The ridiculously light carbon tubular wheels alone are worth about $4500 a set. Built by Lightweight in Germany, they've been used by Lance in the Tour — paid for at full price, says a Colnago spokesperson.
Want one? Good luck. If you can swallow the still-cheap-for-a-Ferrari $15,000 pricetag, rarity becomes the next hurdle. Only 60 of the limted-edition "Colnago for Ferrari 60th" (yes, that's the model) were made,with only 20 of those bound for U.S. shores.
If that seems too steep, a sans-Lightweight wheelset, "non-limited" version — meaning a whopping 199 were made, 60 of those available in the U.S. — can be had for only $12,000; which leaves enough left over to buy a decent bike that you can actually use without the suffering the inevitable paranoia-induced stroke from riding this one.
