When does a prefabricated hallway draw the attention of the international media and ignite the dreams of children the world over? That would be when it’s the Node 2 Harmony module, a component of the International Space Station scheduled to fly up next Tuesday.
Acting as a connecting port between labs and spacecraft, Harmony is 21 feet long and 14 ft wide, and will also serve as a work platform. The extra square footage will also please those aboard, as they’ll be able to use it as living and working space, according to NASA.
