In a tiny factory in a tiny English town near the somewhat larger town of Bath, the svelte little coupe you see here has just entered production, a reminder that the British car industry isn't completely owned by foreign companies after all. Sporting the most ludicrously made-up-sounding name since Oldsmobile coined "Achieva," the Farbio GTS nonetheless features some pretty advanced features, including a stiff spaceframe chassis and a carbon fiber composite body. A smooth underbelly with a front splitter and a rear diffuser helps keep the car planted at speed. That speed, by the way, comes courtesy of a mid-mounted a 3.0-litre V-6 (a Ford Duratec, likely) producing 262 horsepower in standard trim, or 384 horsepower in supercharged form. The supercharged Farbio tips the scales at a very modest 2350 pounds, a figure that contributes to a 3.9-second sprint to 60 mph and a top speed in excess of 175 mph. Plus, there's room in the trunk — um, boot — for a set of golf clubs. As for price, the standard Farbio (that name...) stickers for a cool $120,800, give or take; the supercharged car will set you back about $144,400. Britain's Autocar Magazine reports there's an eight-month waiting list for the Farbio in the U.K., though it's unclear whether this suggests a real demand for the car, or simply that the people who build it are really, really slow. Don't hold your breath for a U.S. debut.
