This thing, which resembles Satan's distended testicle or, perhaps, an alien rejuvenation pod, turns out on close inspection to contain nothing more extraterrestrial than a lost human.

Created by industrial designer John Moriarty, the Cocoon, as it's aptly called, hooks up to a tree and keeps the occupant warm, dry, and off the ground in the event of an emergency. As eminently ingenious as it seems, I'm somehow lost for words, as if commenting on it would somehow mean that I've been taken in by it.
