Not to be outdone by corporate cousin Lamborghini and its just-introduced, extremely limited-production Reventón supercar, the Volkswagen Group's ultra-elite Bugatti brand unveiled an even more exclusive model: The Veyron 16.4 "Pur Sang." The company only plans to build five of them, priced at a cool 1.4 million euros apiece (about $1,944,000 at this writing). The standard Veyron already ranks as the world's fastest production car, with a top speed of 253 mph, but the "Pur Sang" (literally, "Pure Blood," but think "Thoroughbred"), should push that figure a little higher. The car features a host of weight-saving features that reportedly nix some 200 pounds from the Veyron's 4160-pound curb weight). Without a doubt, the most startling weight-saver is the car's unpainted aluminum body panels and naked carbon fiber composite pieces. Want one? Too bad. Not twenty-four hours after its debut, Bugatti's astonishing "Pur Sang" was officially sold out.
