Google's Street View, the controversial Google Maps feature that uses vehicle-cameras to take 360-degree street level views of major urban areas, has now expanded to include images from Southern California's great metropolises.

Wired News had a lot of fun when the first cities launched and now want your help again to capture the best inadvertent Los Angeles and San Diego 'urban' snapshots.

Submit and vote on your favorite urban scenes -- be they celebrities picking up after their dogs, yoga instructors doing the walk of shame or sitcom screenwriters doing power lunches. You can find some inspiration and examples from the San Francisco/New York/Vegas version. LaudonTech has a compilation, too.

Submit a Street Snapshot

While you can submit as many images as you want, you can only submit one every 30 minutes. No HTML allowed.

To submit an image, you will need to know how to take a screenshot (crop it if need be) and upload it to an image hosting site. If you can't do this, then drop the Google url from the "Link to This Page" icon in the top right page of Street View and submit it in the comments. Either I or another reader can then create a proper submission, if the link is cool enough.

Directions: Give your post a good name. Use the Google "Link to This Page" Link as the link for the title. Use the image field to insert a link to a jpg or gif file hosted on a third-party photo service, such as Flickr or
PhotoBucket. Try to keep images small, as they will all be re-sized to
250 pixels wide anyways.
