We don't want to say that we immediately made a beeline to the Rock Band booth at Penny Arcade Expo, but pretty much. Harmonix got a booth here for the first time ever, and had three seperate Rock Band playtest areas ready to go. This was the first time I rocked out with total strangers and I think we did a good job. I decided to pick a harder difficulty level than usual, and Peter Moored out of "Say It Ain't So."

Oh well: the great thing about failing at Rock Band is that you can fail with style, as shown above. The little buttons down the neck of the guitar let you tap out solos without needing to strum, leaving your right hand free for rocking.

There was also a Rock Band stand in the Microsoft booth, where for the first time ever the public can try the head-to-head versus drummer mode. Two drum kits. Two drummers. One survivor. I can attest to the fact that it is awesome fun, and that you should swing by the Microsoft booth in the PAX hall if you're here this weekend.
