Disclosure: I 1) am by no means an expert on Pitchfork’s past transgressions, 2) think M.I.A. is a touch bonkers in the way smart and charmingly imperfect people are, and 3) personally enjoy aspects of both the artist and website in question.

That being said, when M.I.A. came into a recent Pitchfork interview with guns blazing and made certain assertions (“In America, that's such a norm, for women to be puppets.”), I was not necessarily on her side. And I really like angry people.
