The report cites the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) as protection for individuals unlocking their iPhones, but the real question surrounding these hacks is if there's a real business in voiding iPhone warranties. Jonathan Kramer of Kramer Telecom Law Firm, told the reporter,* "The law here is unclear… There just isn't any case law in this area for us to figure out how it plays out..." *So, according to the report, for the time being, iPhone hacking is a growth business.
