Assume for the purpose of argument that Comcast, despite having been called in advance, still managed to puke it up and delay installation of your internet for two weeks after you moved into a new home, forcing you to subsist on slow and intermittent internet connections stolen from your neighbors' WiFi routers. How does one then proceed? If hField Technologies is for real, their 1000-feet directional antenna sounds about right.
Now, when I hear "1,000 feet," I'm reminded of the "10 mile" range touted by the makers of cheap walkie-talkies(Fine Print: "10 miles applicable only in space or other unobstructed vacuum"), so everyone's mileage will probably vary. However, the creators claim a combination of hardware and "proprietary software" (hmmm...) will somehow enhance the reception of otherwise standard 802.11 radio waves.
