Object2_2Adding another game to the list of DS Games That I Wasn't Really That Interested In But Having Played Them At PAX I Kind Of Want Them Now, we have DK: Jungle Climber. The sequel to a Game Boy Advance game that I didn't actually bother playing, DK Jungle Climber has simple game mechanics that quickly turn into a complicated little game.

Here's the basic rundown: you're Donkey Kong. The first two seconds of the game look exactly like Donkey Kong Country. But it changes as soon as you jump. Now you're hanging on to a series of pegs, and you can press the L and R shoulder buttons to climb from peg to peg. Add in the fact that you can also rocket off the peg-boards by letting go of the buttons, or attack by pressing A, and you've got a lot of different things to consider as you move through the levels -- do I just climb up the board, or should I leap off of it, risking death to grab some banana bunches in a quicker amount of time? This seems to be getting good buzz in Japan, where it's selling better than expected, so we'll see how it does when it ships here next month.
