American Airlines says it'll start offering WiFi service on long-haul flights early next year. After several false starts, American is now working with carrier AirCell to come up with a system that works.

No word on pricing, but AirCell execs have said before that they expect to come in around $10 per passenger per flight, no worse than what you'd shell out at the Starbucks in the airport. Trial runs will start in January on flights between New York and California.
