The Siren Music Festival, New York’s raucous free summer concert on the boardwalk at Coney Island, takes place tomorrow, starting at noon with M.I.A., We Are Scientists and New York Dolls heading the bill. This seventh installment of the Village Voice’s annual fest could very well be the last as this roaring playground of the 1920s is being rezoned and is likely on the verge of being developed beyond recognition. Other bands include Voxtrot, Black Lips and Noisettes. As if that weren’t reason enough to go, be sure and check out several of the seedy seaside dive bars and what’s left of the freak shows, including the ever-popular Shoot the Freak.
