One of the most popular tourist destinations in Florida is the Kennedy Space Center. But if you've never been, and live half a world away, you can experience a close approximation on your computer.
Photographer John O'Conner has made a series of spherical views of various space shuttle facilities. You know, the images where you can pan around and see a 360-degree view in all directions, up and down.
You can see inside the vehicle assembly building when it's empty, and then in front of the space shuttle Endeavor, beside the shuttle, and above it. You can also see what the view of the landing site looks like for journalists.
The full screen panoramic view requires that you have Java running on your computer to work, but you don't need to download any special player.
And if you are planning on seeing the shuttle in person, you'd better call your travel agent. The next launch is August 7th.
