Three London men who ran jihadist websites and were sentenced on Thursday to prison terms for inciting terrorism over the internet discussed using a network of doctors in the United States to conduct car bomb and grenade attacks on domestic military targets, including, authorities believe, Mayport Naval Base in Jacksonville, Florida.
The three men, not connected to the ring of doctors who attacked Glasgow International Airport last week and left two cars rigged with explosives in London's West End, were led by Younis Tsouli (above, middle), a computer-savvy Moroccan whose propaganda and recruiting skills turned him into the main distributor for material from Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's group, al-Qaeda in Iraq. Tsouli and his accomplices talked to doctors about carrying out attacks in the U.S. They appeared to be in contact with a large network of doctors here, leading authorities to wonder if al-Qaeda has adopted a strategy of recruiting medical professionals.
