I don't know about you. But I can't even begin to imagine anything more fun that a battle of the bands between a bunch of government IT geeks. So I know I'll be counting down the days to "GIT Rockin'... [a] friendly competition allows executives — from government and industry alike — to network with peers, colleagues and spouses in a high-energy, out-of-the-industry-norm environment."

Git_hornsNow bands, don't try to cram too many ringers into the group. While "the event is open to bands that play all genres of music[, i]n order to qualify for GIT Rockin', your band must consist of at least two members of the government IT community (government and vendor executives are both eligible to participate)."

Also, do note that "all performances must be live music. No musical tracks will be allowed, with the exception of tracks for sound effects."

But, oh, how sweet will be the taste of victory, if you do manage to get to the top of the GIT Rockin' heap.

Most importantly, the winning band of GIT Rockin' gets bragging rights about rocking hardest across the government IT community. In addition, they will receive a full page profile promoting them as the second annual GIT Rockin' winner in 1105 Government Information Group publications (post-event). Lastly, you’ll take home a nice trophy for your practice room.

So start jamming, already.

UPDATE: Oh. Dear. Lord.
