Yelp invited Wired News' Michael Calore to cover the company's Yelp Elite party tonight. But when the Yelp flack who extended the invitation found out that photographer Lane Hartwell would be shooting photos for us, she retracted the invitation. What is Yelp afraid of? Perhaps it's pictures like this one, which Lane shot a couple months ago at a Yelp Elite party, that are making the company's marketing brass nervous. They can't be happy about fighting the founders' party-boy reputations while they try to build Yelp into a legitimate (and acquirable) business asset.
