Murderous Japanese Cult Produces Cheery Anime About Their Leader

Aum Shinrikyo, a Japanese cult founded by Shoko Asahara, is the group responsible for the deadly Sarin gas attack in the Tokyo subways, which killed 12 commuters and left over 1000 people injured. Although he's currently awaiting execution, Aum Shinriyko's latest incarnation as Aleph have taken it upon themselves to finance this remarkable anime film about their crazed (but beatific!) leader.
