With all the lead-up to today's "Day of Silence" for webcasters in protest of the new royalty rates that could drive Pandora and other webcasters out of business (or at least force them to become artificially similar to terrestrial radio), and considering the fact that the Day of Silence was originally scheduled for May 15, you'd be easily forgiven for forgetting that if you support Internet radio, today is the day for you to take action.
Take a minute to call your Congresspeople; it's easy, just enter your zipcode on SaveNetRadio.org, call the numbers that pop up on the next page, and ask your Senator and Representative(s) to co-sponsor the Internet Radio Equality Act, S. 1353 in the Senate and H.R. 2060 in the House. You can use the talking points listed there, unless you want to speak extemporaneously (when I called, the person who answered just wanted to know what I supported and what my my zipcode was).
(And yes, I know, SaveNetRadio.org is slightly astroturf-ish in that it was created by DiMA, which represents some rather large webcasters, but ultimately, people calling Congress constitutes a genuine grassroots movement, so there.)
