It used to be a whistle, clipboard and intimidating bark were all you needed to be a coach. These days, however, technology is crucial to team management. Hence, RealTrack Football from the Spanish company C&M Comunicación y Multimedia. The system uses GPS technology to track player movements to help soccer coaches and physical trainers analyze game tactics and monitor vital player information such as fatigue, cardiac strength and more. All data can be monitored on the sidelines via a PDA or similar handset. Currently, it's only marketed to European footballers, but it would be interesting to see how it could be implemented in other sports.
