Twitter just released a version of its website for mobile phones. Surf to m.twitter.com on your phone and twit away.
I just commandeered a co-worker's Treo and posted a status message. Very nice. The mobile site is basically a stripped-down version of Twitter's full website with all the same functionality for following friends and browsing archived posts.
This is an important development for mobile Twitter users, as they can now interact with the official Twitterverse from a mobile browser. No more SMS, no more IM. There are some third party Twitter interfaces like Twitter2Go as well as mobile apps like TreoTwit. But m.twitter.com offers a much richer (and more official) experience.
